Boat causes multiple crashes upon opening

I have two crates of clay in a boat of mine that has been sitting for a few days. I made several attempts to get the crates out, but whenever I selected open and touched the boat, I froze and then crashed. It took 4 attempts to get the crates out of the boat.

It's nothing game breaking, but it left me glitch-logged in for about 5 minutes.
