If you raid a hill and then run indoors and go back outside the ants don't attack you and you can safely raid the ant hill.

If you're far enough from them when you raid they don't know how to path to you. So just aggro them, lead them away, lose aggro and raid at your leisure.

While this may be a bug, I don't think it's unreasonable for us to be able to outwit ants.

I'm pretty sure that this trick is intended behaviour, since their pathing seems to break much sooner than that of large animals.
