Suddenly Decaying Crates

A group of friends and I had just settled into a cave. We blocked off the entrance using our hearth fires and made sure there were no other entrances. We made some crates and put our items in. A couple hours later, we are staring at the crates, the crate disappears, items spew out, items disappear. Can someone please explain why the heck this happened, there was no one else in the cave....

Decay was probably implemented for caves and mines.

I hope not, though.

I have had similar issues. Where I made 5 crates and placed them on stone. (At the same time, no real gap) 2 hours pass and 4 are fine, 1 is blood red and about to die. No explanation for it. It wasn't damaged by anything btw.

Oh yeah one of our crates on stone is about to decay, too. Probably not associated with caves I'd say

actually i had an incident like that with drying racks. We have 20 of them all full and they were all fine, even easiest one, but one of the newer ones suddenly became bright red. They were all on a claim but not on stone.

Sounds like what I do with animals, I use peoples claims as blockers and drag the animals through the whole claim destroying everything; haven't done that this world though.
