Could not connect to server?

Hi, i'm new to this game i just downloaded it because it looked like you could do a lot of stuff, (unlike most game where all they focus on is good graphics) and it looked really fun! but when i started the program and tried to log in it says "could not connect to server" so will the server be back up or is this game discontinued........

How long will it be till it is back up? I only have today and then I can not play for awhile and I need to check all my stuff so I really need to know.
