Yeah that's what I thought too. For awhile at the beginning of W5 bears wouldn't run from me but recently it looks like they have returned to their old behavior of fleeing and then being huge wusses when they come back and not even attempting to hit you.

Yes thats true they come back and just keep looking at you while you punch the shit out of them. Problem is I was in a party of 3 and the bear ran away from ME not the others so then the bear kicked the shit out of 1 of the party members :S

Make note of your surroundings; I'm not sure the critter AI's pathfinding is that smart.

I was boating today, and caught sight of a boar close to shore. Now, I may be a newb, but I read the forums and the wiki, so I go off, get some stones, equip my sling, and proceed to plink away at the boar. My marksmanship isn't stellar but it's enough to make him run after I hit him a few times.

So, being a newb, I pull up to shore, grab some more stones, and follow (I've lost sight of him at this point... I'm not interested in the LP as much as I want to see what I can get out of a boar carcass). I spot him at the 'higher' end of a ledge. And being a newb, I flick a stone at him. Does he run down the ledge? Nope (thank God, I'd have been screwed). Does he run AROUND the ledge? Nope. He runs right up to the edge and stops... standing there glaring at me impotently as I pelt him a few more times before he finally dies.

LP? Who cares, I have curios, and now I have bacon.

No LP from kills anymore, anyway.

I've seen a lot of animals stick on various things in the world. Watched a deer get stuck on a tree just last night.

As far as I knew there never was a change... If you were not putting out enough damage per hit, the bears wouldn't run, up grade your sling and perception, hit higher.. bears run. Isn't that how it's always been?

Yes it is. If you hit for 80ish or above they'll normally run. They will only be considered fleeing to the person who deals the hit that makes him run tho, which is why someones party mate got his ass kicked :P. Also, if you shoot them right as they twitch, they wont run.

Happened again I hit the bear for 112 dmg and he ran away. Im only posting this because it was stated that in w5 bears do not run away anymore.

Edit: Just happened again with the same bear hitting 112 dmg.
