Frog - Boat bug

Im not 100% sure this is a glitch but this doesn't seem normal to me. See, when I drop a object from a boat it sinks. But when I drop a frog into deep water from a boat it spawns on the water, just sitting there. Is this normal? please explain if I'm just being stupid and frogs are supposed to walk on ocean water without moving.( i was unable to add a screenshot as i use open office, sorry D:)

Known effect. Don't know of it's intended or not but I don't think they're rushing to fix it anytime soon.
