Animals Corpse Camping

I'm not sure if this is a bug or part of the new AI but, if I am knocked out but and animal it will just stand there and hit me back down again as soon as I wake up.
Of course, if they are acting as another type of terrain block, then I will just not walk in that direction. I just wanted to confirm if this behaviour was intended or not.

Well, on the one hand, this particular behavior is a bug. I don't really know why yet, but when an animal loses its last target, it doesn't seem to go back into roaming mode.

On the other hand, the animals are supposed to be worse terrain blockers than they currently are. It is our long-standing ambition that they should, at least by some larger or smaller chance (depending on the civilization in the area), be deadly.

Well, sure, preventing expansion is one thing, but I feel it should be possible to escape from them and retreat rather than dying every single time.

At the very least, if the animals are intended to be lethal, then have them attack unconscious players and get it all over with.

I would suspect, however, that making animals too dangerous will force players to huddle around the ring and basically paralyze any growth.
Surprise.

100% agreed. Currently, unless you have the strength to kill whatever is attacking you (and from what I've seen, few people can even stand a chance against a fox or boar) you are as good as dead unless you can find a house or river and run into it - and even then they will camp at the door or river bank.

The corpsecamping should really stop, and there needs to be a way to escape, as from what I've seen, animals will keep chasing you from up to a full screen away, and will never, never, ever give up unless you can break that distance - which is normally impossible without exploiting their inability to enter water, which strikes me as a rather cheap tactic. I shouldn't have to resort to what feels like an exploit just to stay alive.

I'm getting pretty sick of having to return to the RoB the second I encounter one measly fox.

It would help if we could at least outrun them some of the time, but with their neverending stamina and only being able to outrun foxes with sprint (for only like half a screen), a fox you can't kill means a fox that knocks you out and camps you.

*sigh* This is very rough on anyone not traveling with super characters, at least on the new map. I'm in the sad position of being able to swim rivers (if lag lets me) but not being able to cope with the wildlife. Fortunately I have large friends, but it's embarrassing being a tag-along behind a super character and unable to explore solo.

Seriously, you really have to stop bitching about how endgame content is for endgame players. I mean, wow it sucks that rivers encircle the rob, seriously.

But at the same time, the edges of mordor are the edges of fukken mordor. Either you are strong enough, or you need to join someone strong enough.
