Bluescreen

Postby SpineApple » Sat May 21, 2011 10:12 am

I was boating and then I had a bluescreen error, I know the co-ordinates and I'm mad as fuck right now, I've never had a bluescreen error at that point and everything was on that boat as I was moving to a village.

Someone was near the area that I was boating and he picked up a boat, I go by and POW bluescreen out of fucking nowhere and I spend Less than 1 Min trying to log back it, can't log back onto the boat, fucking cunt took the boat.

If there is a bug that can cause graphic errors he might know it as he was picking up a different boat as I went by.

Co-ords are 48, -17

The guy must have immediately boated to where I was because it took maybe less than a minute to reload my comp and get to the login screen, he was allowed to walk around on the claimed area there.

Check your graphics drivers. I've seen a couple of other complaints about BSOD problems in the last couple of days related to this.

Yeah. That's the problem. Sometimes new drivers don't play nicely. Check the "Wizard's Tower" section for a couple complaints about this.

(ATI and nVidia need to quit pandering to the damn software developers and force them to work within the damn D3D and OGL specs /rant)

Well ventilated, has good cooling so the emergency shut off was not triggered or is doubtful.

Is it problem with ender's client specifically or has this occurred with both official and non-official clients (or you don't know this yet)?

Most likely it's a Java/OpenGL problem. Although, there could be a specific procedure call in one of the clients that is causing the bug.

So many people laugh when I tell them I DON'T update my video drivers unless absolutely necessary. I look at them and ask them how stable their computer is. They're usually complaining about all kinds of games crashing or even when they're not playing games. Go figure. I usually laugh back. I'm not saying I don't get BSOD at times, but I'd rather have stable than have bleeding edge performance. Guess that comes from losing one too many saves or tons of hard work. <meh>
