Random Character Log-out hangup? (Default client)

Postby mvgulik » Mon May 30, 2011 10:43 pm

[strike]Odd, when I move a character behind a rock, and push the [Options: Log out] button. The Client partially stops working. Or at leased that's what it looks like.
(Had other "log out" problem before, but never saw the connection, if I'm right about this and its not just some misleading random streak.)
[/strike]
... falling back to random. :(

After using [Options: Log out] client randomly hangs in semi-lockups.
- [Option's] menu still working, Open, close, and I can normally [Options: Quit] the client.
- Moving the ground around is also still possible.
- But ... the character is unresponsive. (Kinda like the character "is" already logged out, but the client forgot to follow suit.)

- Tried CMD ":lo" to (once), but that seems unaffected. -> client switches to Player log-in screen.
- When not standing behind rock, [Options: Log out] works ok. -> client switches to Player log-in screen.

- Default client, on Win.Xp.x86.Sp3

... Mantis had Loftar for breakfast by the looks of it. ...

Same has happened to me with Original client once and with Enders from time to time when I put the hearthling to sleep - it goes to the bed and a hearthling appears sleeping but another stands on top of it. Only way to close client is by the X button or the Options -> quit. I's just a visual bug I think - when I relog the hearthling wakes and stands up from bed.

Not really, Client should exit out of game-mode and fall back to the player-login screen. Seeing two versions of your hearthling is kinda logical ... if the client decides to hang around in game mode while it shouldn't.

Odd thing is, I never had a case where this happened when putting a hearthling to bed.

happens to me a lot, ive been logged on as my main and an alt at the same time, and when i put one to bed sometimes ill see the bed change into the sleeping person pic and nothing happens after that. I look with my other char and the first char is properly logged out as far as the server knows.
its kind of annoying to restart you're client if you want to switch chars, but meh.
loftar: New hair styles? Really? Seeing how Jorb never gets off his lazy ass to draw some, I almost want to add them to the game proper.
