Untrackable? and unsommonable?

Postby stickman » Fri Jun 17, 2011 4:04 pm

Someone murdered a friend of mine.

Collected scents... started tracking.... I must have been in the same lake as them when suddonly the perp went offline.

Tracked HF... No hearthfire.
Tracked Perp... Perp offline.
Right clicked scent (while on the shore) - perpetrator could not be summoned.

re-did all these checks, moved around right click summoning in different areas... NOTHING.. and still offline with no HF!

This is most likely a russian due to where the scent is pointing so he likely has a charterstone. But when you dont have a HF and are not logged in I should be able to track to the charterstone to summon.

............. explanation please?

after frantically trying to get a trace or summon he logged in about 2 minutes later... on what appears to be a western supergrid.......

If you need place to warp to get close to western wall I can see about helping you.
Although you may still have trust issues with me as most BNers probably still do :P

Also this bug seems pretty weird. Thinking maybe he was already summoned somewhere?

Could be something gamebreaking if people can make themselves unsummonable somehow. But well those kinds of bugs have been dealt rather swiftly with in the past and the players absuing such things lost their chars. So good luck to them should they indeed abuse something gamebreaking here.

This is another topic for debate but it has always seemed strange to me a charterstone can be used to prevent a character from being forced summoned. I think that feature should be exclusive to hearthfires.

Well, if a charterstone is involved, it's weird because from what I remember, if perp has no HF but is attached to a charterstone you should be able to track HF to that charterstone.

If you have any of those scents left, I can have a look at them.

Indeed.

It shouldn't. Charterstones are pretty cool.
