maybe it's a decent quality log.

Got a point there, but then, why carry any log inside a house? Why not just cut it up on the spot? I certainly understand if a person has no clue about this bug, but it's been known about for a good long while. (Yes, I realize the HF is there and probably ported to it.)

why carry any log inside a house? Why not just cut it up on the spot?

algoritm:
1) get to the far tree line
2) cut a tree, cut 1st log to blocks/boards, lift 2nd log
3) port to HF
understood?

Carry two traveller's sacks instead? Better yet, bring cart, load with large chests, fill all with whatever, haul all at once.

Or you can just port to your HF in your log cabin and run the risk of dropping logs on crashes. I think I'll go with my option.

Who puts his/her hearth fire in a small cabin? Those cabins are just for storing cupboards.
You should have used the center of a Timber house.

Some villages only let their members have a spot big enough for a log cabin.
