Beehive quality set to default

I made some new hives and they all got 10 quality, the hives I built before them are 50ish quality and used worse materials.
For the King, For the Land, For the Mountains
For the Green Valleys Where Dragons Fly

They seem to be going up in quality over time, I guess this is intentional?

I just got some honey from my one and only beehive - it was just q10, but now it is q9...

Perhaps the quality of Honey has to do with the quality of the crops growing?
