A lightsaber in the foot?

Im not sure if this has been pointed out before, or if its a bug, but il say it anyway just because im a douchebag.

So, lets just say i decided to mess with the wrong fox, as usual my dude passed out with his shoes gone (Broken during fight), but when i got up and decided to get me a new pair of shoes, i got the "A thorn in the foot" effect pretty fast, resulting in me passing out again, but the problem here was that the effect didn't stop even tho i wasn't moving, each second i'd loose 1 hp due to a "Thorn in the foot", i logged out and logged in my hearth fire, but the effect continued, i had to log out for about 10 minutes to stop the effect, i wasn't moving while this happened as i said earlier, i was busy being half dead

A bit of searching of the forums or the wiki might have answered this and reading the instructional guides in the "How Do I?" section would have prevented this.

A fox is one of the easiest things to kill in melee combat once you know how and have enough skill. It's not something a newbie can do, though. Read Dataslycer's combat guide (and I would suggest reading most of the recent comments to it, about the last 3-4 months or so). You're lucky it didn't just kill you.

"A Thorn in the Foot" is normal for walking through the forest without any shoes. You take a relatively small amount of damage over time from this. If you have been KO'd by anything and have no shoes, best to wait to regain SHP for the reason you explained. As a note, if you have no SHP and are taking damage from anything, the damage then goes to HHP, the yellow bar, which can mean death if it depletes. FYI, logging out won't stop the damage. Buffs/debuffs from effects outside of combat generally persist across sessions. Clogs are pretty easy to make and only require a stone axe and a couple of wood blocks with the Carpentry skill (pretty cheap to buy). Just remember that they need to be frequently replaced as they don't stop the "Thorn in the Foot". Clogs just absorb all the damage immediately when it occurs so you never see it. Replace the clogs with bunny slippers (or better shoes/boots) as soon as you are able. These other shoes will prevent it from ever occurring.
