Beehive quality drop

Postby fenrirfenix » Fri Sep 18, 2009 5:46 pm

My bee army, until recently, was giving out q19 honey on average. q19 after honey from each hive was pooled in the same bucket. I know the hives were for the most part fairly decent quality because of the straw I was using.

Now I just had two buckets of q10 honey and a mountain of q10 wax, except for a few pieces of q11. Is this a bug or are my bees just being lazy?

That does sound weird. What's the quality of the nearby crops?

The hives are sitting between two of my major fields, but overlap on a couple other small gardens. The two smaller fields are onions and poppies, which I haven't replanted or harvested in several days. They're probably q10-15, since they're maybe one generation passed wild. The two bigger fields are split between q50+ grapes, q45+ wheat, and q40+ hops. At the moment there's only about 15-25 of each plant type since my last culling.

I hadn't emptied the hives in some time. Each hive gave 1 litre of honey and had five lumps of wax each. The hives also don't seem to be affecting my crops as they were for the previous four or five replantings.

The hives, as far as I can see, are perfectly fine in terms of any damage. They're built on stone and they're all the same color as the most recently built hive.

Said beehives have now stopped producing completely. It's been several hours and there's no honey or wax at all.

Did the (if there was one) turbofarming fix change something in the hive mechanics that might have busted my beehives? Or otherwise changed how they work?

There are a lot of hives all lined up together. Do they not work as well when crammed into a pile with ten other hives?
