Reasons for not playing this game:
1. Bugs...
2. Useless tutorial... Don't think you can even call it one... yeh maybe your meant to try and find it all out for Yourself but fuck that I'm no mind reader lol. no man would know to use a spindle root as a class of string... yeh flax or even hemp understandable but the root?
3. The way your meant to earn points(LP) is retarded.
4. Painfully slow mostly due to the server[glitched every 2 mins, im a very patient person]
5. not many players and when you do come across 'em they are always griefers (which wouldnt be a problem if it didnt take for ever to lvl up).
6. Make ur guy from scratch try to learn swimming (why make it an option when clearly its a bad choice)-dead... again new guy thinkin wow been on all day must be able to take a boar on, wrong again... Your knocked off ur feet in one then killed... Not starting again not worth it in the slightest.
7.The party option is a must but should include something to help understand how many ppl are in your area or so... true Im in the UK so my times are diff to those from the USA or Russian parts of the world...hence i had the problem never finding ppl awake/alive/or not a griefer.
8.Game is impossible for ppl who have had a late start, so yes if your new do the following:
-load of your web browser
-enter in your fav p*rn site or roll one
-De-stress due to the following because of being so hyped up over a game
-I would do both as it chillifies you fast.

2. Different and slightly more realistic -!but to the point of a pig managing to kill a man in two shots, terrible :/...!
3. collecting materials for a house agreed is most taxing which i think is pretty well measured in time etc.
4. LP are great but it gets to the point were you have found all these new items and you just find your self stuck looking for curiosities and doing other annoyingly gay jobs.... keep it straight and reasonably simple because without a tutorial i had to spend some time on youtube listening to germans and some guy whos stoned wandering what he did last...
5. The size of the map (ruined to people owning so much of it)... Fuck letting people own it let it be pillaged or don't but don't go this crazy.


In conclusion pretty cool game due to the concept and all but because of the lag from the server, the ridiculous measures of some parts in the game and the unrealistic painful memories i have had in this game. It is a must that you should take these just into consideration, don't want another fella loosing hours over a game which could be perfect but which isn't therefore time could be placed to more fundamental things... like study... haha.... Im not kickin balls, Im clearin the air since no one else has the ballz to.... GL to those who bask on the hearthling journey but be warned!

This right here tells me that you haven't even begun to scratch the surface of this game. "Finding all these new items" is not meant to be a method of gaining LP at all. It's simply a way to speed up the horribly boring early game. Curiosities ARE LP.

I don't really disagree with some of your points, but the fact that you've probably experienced 1% of what this game has to offer makes me question your ability to speak on it.

1) its in alpha, and the amount of game breaking bugs is impressively low considering its made by 2 people in their spare time
2) What tutorial? Once again, it's in alpha.
3) No it's not once u get going. It sucks at the start yes, but it picks up A LOT.
4) I assume your referring to the lag? See 1
5) I've only ever come across 3 random griefers in the time i've played this game, 1 of which i killed, the other 2 gang beat me =s.
6) Learn from your mistakes. Are you really upset that you can't take on a boar (the 3rd toughest animal in the game [not counting trolls]) after a day of playing?
7) Would you really rather constantly find people and never be able to find a place to settle down?
8) No, it's not. You can catch up to other people through trade for quality. Stats and quality become significantly harder to level as you get them higher.

My opinion? This isn't the game for you if your gonna quit after a few unfortunate encounter's with water, people and boars. Play for more then 3 days and you'll have a more valid opinion about what the game is.

GL to those who bask on the hearthling journey but be warned!' -- Im clearly not completely sagging off the game, i know it has been done by two uni students in their spare time and obv what a great achievement but what im saving is ppl who dont play such games in so much depth... basically its a warning to those, that it seems to be a game more time consuming than the likes of WOW in the sense of material finding and building.... I always look on the forums for conclusions like such as a game broken down to things that outstood to me can help other gamers choose what they think is right and for goodness its best to pull out its weaknesses than to keep 'em quiet otherwise games will never be upgraded.

-I understand its in Alpha pardon my lack of communication for not pointing that part out... it has a lot of potential the game but what servers could they possibly be using (when i set up a game with my mates we used servers from Holland and they worked fine).
To that point [6] understand learning from mistakes but from square one? Is this game now about re-living after every mistake? Ill be honest when i had my guy first round and tried swimmin i was like 'k i drowned, epic lolz and now i start again... fair enough ppl can drown after just learning the skill (im keeping in mind you cant just swim in rl after just learning it, practice is needed aka constitution in this situation)... seee when i died after the boar tho, I laughed my ballz off for a wee bit but then kinda realised the amount of time i had spent to die within two shots of a pig? you have different quality types of items and weapons but only one type of boar...the hardcore boar!? oh saw the troll has 300 dps, whaaaA? truthfully i enjoyed the game but i think theres a way of avoiding the whole death too soon ratio.... meaning for how long and how many mistakes i have made in that certain time makes it clear that i may die a lot more to these 'learn from your mistake' moments... I'm sure you will get what I mean.

Wasn't what i was going for kid so calm your sack down sunny and listen up... im clearing the air for those about to join. I joined this game with more than 5 of us to test drive this bute idea of a game out... there was my conclusion and also still an opinion in some way... so please concentrate a little more before crocking guff. OH and btw been using http://havenandhearth.wikia.com and other forums. p.s don't be so sour about superior part, I'm usually more of a niave gob shite than condescending but cheers lol.

Hmmm i was thinkin it was pretty outdated but I guess i would like to think it would almost be common sense when it came to making things and not havin to worry about another wiki... was really hyped up about this game . Still a lot more to it than any other game I have ever tread on .
