He closed his keys in a safe, safe in the basement! Jorb Help! I think many have encountered this problem. safe breaking is not an option, he stands near the wall

I could be wrong, but i dont think things in the cellar will be thrown outside, simply destroyed.

Even if it is, there is no way to get the key out. When you break a house, items get tossed out with a random amount of damage. When you break a container, the container and everything in it is destroyed. Always keep copies of keys on a key alt (two key alts with copies of all keys is the way to go IMO). One might even say keep keys only on a key alt so there is never a key that can get placed in a strongbox to get locked away.

Is strongbox the exception? Using a cheap container (straw or wicker basket) is how I get rid of some of the more annoying "can't be dropped on the ground to decay" items. Or does it only apply to the few things like the pepper shaker?

The strongbox is not an exception. The pepper shaker is just funky.
