the home page of the game says that server is up but i got this message at the bottom of login window "Could not connect to server" i'm online since i'm writing this topic so it's not a magtter of my internet connection...i think

There have been connection problems like this recently. You might want to try downloading one of the third party clients. Ender's is the best supported client: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14575
