sleeping characters disappear

I believe this is related to http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2305 and is also causing a lot of the raeg about recovering from travel too slowly.

After a long time (possibly the critter despawn timer?) of being logged out with one character, I log on with another, and go to the bed he logged out in. There is no sleeping hearthling in that bed. When I try to log on again as that hearthling "where you last logged off" I cannot do so.

I believe the sleeping hearthlings are being de-spawned, and therefore
a) Don't gain benefits of bed once they're despawned
b) Cannot log in where they last logged out (it's walled in or lost in the despawning)

I had one successfully log in by the bed, after the icon disappeared. It was fully recovered from weariness. _Now_ it cannot login where it logged out - and it was neither sleeping nor weary, unless the crash rolled back to a point where it was sleeping, in which case the problem might be 2 chars in the same bed.

This might be a purely graphical bug, but if it isn't, it would probably explain the "last logged out position"-bug, indeed. Can you verify whether another character can choose to sleep in the bed or not when this happens?

Won't be playing for another 5-18 hours, will try to test more when I'm on next, if someone else could do this and post that'd be rad

sleeping characters disappear

The thread name made me think Freddy Krueger has something to do with this.

When this happened to me, I was forcibly logged out by a server crash, thus, not in a bed. I'm told there was a slight rollback when the server went back up (this was when I was unable to use "Where I Logged out") so it is possible that my character was transported back to the bed in the rollback but wasn't actually sleeping, confusing the server about where I was actually logged out.

Okay, so its either a crash that does it, or its after less than 8 hours.

Though I'm betting on a crash.
