Same client+different character=crash

(you'll need to open these fully to see the problem)

Using ender's, as we all seem to, I can log on as you would expect, and log onto a character, bear witness to my naked reaper

yay! now let's log onto my current main HaZZoR V

oh dear, as you can see, it's crashed, if this were an animated .gif it would still look like that, because that's the best way to explain that apparently, the floor hasn't loaded, and this crash seems to occur at different points of loading, since sometimes the "log in at hearth" and "where you logged out" buttons are still visible and sometimes, as in this case, the game runs as normal for a second or so, you can see my movement line in this particular case, I have little idea why this happens, but sometimes it simply doesn't. help 0.0

This isn't related to the belt thing. It's another issue entirely. It's something to do with the hacked OGL and Java code and there's something in Ender's that magnifies it.

edit: Just to mention, Loftar stated what the problem was at one point. I can't seem to find that post again, though. Basically, the client looses track of too many data packets when trying to load resource information and things hang up.

so does that translate to there being a fix or not? i can live with it, i just use an older Ender's for now but it would be nice to fix, i like the most recent version

I don't know. Phaedes or Boshaw one posted something in The Wizards' Tower about ender's freeze-up issues and was trying to trace down the issue. I've been tweaking Catalyst settings (ATI Radeon cards) and turning off Catalyst AI seemed to help. (I haven't noticed anything else working.) I also make sure to start the client in the default size (600x800) instead of a maximized window. That seems to help. It seems the more skills I have, the worse it gets, though.

i'm on an nVidia card D: the window size thing isn't it either, old ender's seems to be my eternal shackle

Might try digging through some of the nVidia support threads about releases with better OpenGL support, but that won't help for running other games. I only mentioned messing with Catalyst settings as an example because it helps decrease the odds of hanging up, and figured there might be some things you could try messing with. In the thread I saw in The Wizards' Tower, there wasn't any link to one specific video card, either.
