Install Issue

I am new and tried installing the app. The first time it stopped at 'Patching client' for an hour so I closed it and opened it again now it goes about 4/5ths through the completion bar in a minute then stops (indefinitely) at "downloading application" So I closed and restarted and same thing. I have latest Java and JDK and Im running win 7

I've been trying to recall the issue with this and I just can't. I want to say it's one of a couple possibilities:

Java cache needs to be cleared (through the Java control panel)
There's a proxy, firewall, AV, or other software issue blocking a full download

The easy solution is to go to "The Wizards' Tower" and download one of the third party clients there. Of the two stickied, Ender's client is the most up-to-date and worked on. There are some issues with it, though, that some people are having problems with.

Yeah, just tried clicking and play and downloaded it as well. Won't work, giving me an error sheet. Will try to re-download Java and clear cache. Will reply if it works out.

Cache Cleared/Java re-downloaded to latest/Downloaded Ender's client.

Same error for all, even the third party client.
