Hi there.

The yellow bar is your soft HP which can be recovered in time but it requires depletion of the hunger bar and takes a good amount of time. Depletion of the soft HP will knock you out.
The red bar is your hard HP which can only be recovered by leeches or gauze typically. Depletion of the hard Hp will result in death.

Check to see which bar is it that you need to recover.

who follows the same routes every day,
who never changes pace,
who does not risk and change the color of his clothes,
who does not speak and does not experience, dies slowly.

How hungry are you? If you're at Very Hungry, you will NOT regenerate SHP. The fuller you are, the faster you regenerate SHP.

Just to be noted: if you slip to starving, you'll start losing SHP. Slowly at first, faster the hungrier you get.
