High temperature on laptop

Hello, I am having some issues with my laptop overheating and making my video card driver crash. I don't know if it's the GPU overheating or the CPU as I can't find a laptop GPU temp reader. Here's the lowdown, on vanilla client my CPU runs at about 20% and I get 75-77C which is meh (fans run, but comparing on some 3d games that dont make the fan run) but on enders I get 30% 80-85*C which is over the limit on heat.

I can't really set it on something cool as the bottom doesn't really get that hot at all =/ maybe it's the GPU? Should I try Java 6? Any suggestions? (besides just using vanilla ui, because it's pretty hard to get along with the small screen =( )
