Character died while sleeping?

The last thing I did when I played my character is go to sleep in a bed...and now I just tried to log on an apparently it is dead ? Is there any explanation as to why this happened ?

You used one of the following: Theft/Vandalism/battery or Murder, were tracked, summoned and killed. Make sure you have at least a pallisade, or better yet, a brick wall before you try doin dirt.....

Thanks for the reply. I had criminal acts on earlier and accidently stepped on somebody's claim...that must have been the reason I died. I didn't know that you can be killed while offline.

Did you STEAL anything from that claim? Be honest.

You cannot be killed while offline if all you did was trespass. You need to have knocked another character out, killed another character, stole something, or vandalized something.

If your character died, then he will not be listed in the list of characters when you log in. There will be a runestone with your character's name and picture in the Character creation room.
