Well locations not showing up

The 'puddles' (watery squares) should be visible at all times when holding the dowsing rod.

Bumping this because I HAS A BUG.

I logged out with the dowsing rod equipped, and on logging back in the puddle was not showing up. The pie slice still appeared as normal, but not the puddle. Removing the dowsing rod and then re-equipping it fixed this.

This was first reported in 2009, which is why I didn't bother reporting it myself.

oh yeh, you are right, in enders and the default clients
how odd
could this be just the way the game is written? for example radius doesn't show in enders for instance until you build a new foddertray/etc (or click show radius)

Completely unrelated. Poke EnderWiggin if you want to know why you can't just toggle specific building radii on and off. (There's no reason you can't and I'm surprised it's done the way he did it.)

The routines for a dowsing rod are activated server side when you equip it. Bug? No. Working as should be? Definitely not. I'm sure the solution is just to check on log-in and activate the dowsing event.
