Boats vanish when you're knocked out whilst carrying them.

Also do not log out in a boat. Mine vanished as well. Still lovin' boats though.

I heard from Delamore when you get KO'd whilest carrying a boat it gets Deleted. I was sad. But it beats getting stuck under a boat knocked out.
