Can't fish?

I have a pole, a spindly root for a line, a bone hook, and a woodfish. Yet anytime I try to fish, I receive the message, "You need a fully equipped pole to fish." Any ideas as to why?

Right click it, de-equip it and see what's on it, you're missing something.

Something may have broken on it and needs to be replaced.

I haven't used any of it, though. I've made 2 hooks for it, and when I put either of them on, no hook shows up on the fishing pole. When I put the lure on, the hook displays. And I've tried with other hooks, other lures, other lines, and even replaced my pole.

You need bait (worm/leech) on the hook.
