weird loss of connection

I havent been playing for quite a while and wanted to start HnH again yesterday.

However, whenever I move away from my HF I get logged out automatically and get immediately thrown out again if I try to log in on the same possition, or the client just freezes. If I start from my HF I can walk around for a while again before the connections dies.

The issue occurs with both Enders and the default-client.

My Java is updated and I already tried to reinstall it two times.

Edit: Staying near my HF seems to keep the game stable for some reason.

suggestions:

edit Ender client run.bat to have one more line containing the word: pause
check for error messages

go to Java console networksettings - mark "direct connection"

or
look if your firewall/router is blocking

or
set your router to "modem only" mode
