No Graphics?

I just found out about this game today, and I just installed Java 7 to my MacBook (OS 10.8.2). When I click the play button, I get the splashscreen, and then a warning about the Java app running. When I tell it to allow the app to run, the window opens, but nothing visual happens. If I wait a bit (normal loading time) then I can hear the music start playing, but again: nothing happens visually. No graphics, no launch/loading/menu screen, nothing.

well not on a Mac here

normally the web client should download all needed files like gluegen and jogl stuff for your OS - so it's difficult to know why in your case there's no graphics shown, you might try with Ender custom client - some hints here: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17147

another suggestion would be to uninstall Java 7 and revert back to Java 6 and try default client (website play button) again

Huh. It's working now. After following Apple's instructions, I rebooted. Then I came back, and when I tried to run the jnlp file it said that I needed to download the JRE. After installing the JRE 7 for Mac, I ran the jnlp file again, and it downloaded the game files, and then just started working as I expected (graphics and all). We'll see if I run into more problems.
