Item disappearance

So the a bit ago me and a friend were messing about and he koed me and took my Merch Robe jokingly and then dropped in under him and I kept trying to grab it under him, so one of those times I thought he picked it up again and he thought I picked it up, and now its just randomly gone because neither of us have it, and its nowhere on the ground.

Has anyone ever had items glitch delete or anything similar to this before?

well its normal that objects that you can put in inventory despawn.
otherwise you'd have milions of random object all over map

a couple of Times with my friend we duplicate items

(saws and axes)
