Boating theft?

Postby Slaya15 » Mon Apr 08, 2013 3:45 pm

I was boating along, and picked up another boat I saw so I could carry 4 animals if need be, when I saw 2 more boats and wanted to check them for chests and the like. Before I disembarked I checked for pclaims and vclaims. Seeing neither, and living in a scent-free neutral village, I hopped out of my boat to check the other two. I noticed that I couldn't move, much like when you go through a mine hole onto a pclaim. I enabled criminal acts after again checking for claims and seeing none, and I some how left a theft scent, by just moving 1 tile, onto unclaimed land. What gives? I'd rather not be summoned and killed over something as petty as a bug.

@ Slaya15

Have you rechecked that location for claims few hours later?

You don't leave theft scents by moving ontop claimed lands. And if you leave a boat on claimed lands, you can go back inside without needing theft.
You sure it wasn't a trespassing scent?

You got your tresspassing and your theft mixed up there buddy.

Also, don't rely on criminal acts to see where claims are. Use the claim-toggle buttons on the minimap in Ender's client.

The boat you initially picked up was most likely on claimed land, and instead of the scent appearing while you're in your boat it gets left when you exit with the stolen item.

to avoid this next time, log out with the boat atop your head, and try to be on land at the time.
