[Solved]Not able to block house with hearth fire

I moved my hearthfire for a second to have an alt character use my hs, but when I try to move it back in front of the door, it won't let me. any idea what might cause this? it lets me build my hearthfire elsewhere, but not in front of other doors either.

Shift while placing an object to build disables the lock to grid

but be aware some ppl just destroy HFs because used as door blocks - have it at least claimed

Holding shift while building UNlocks it from grid, if that's what you mean.

Also you said placing objects, you should say building. When you place objects, holding shift actually does put them in grid

Huh - had no idea that you could use shift like that. I've got a claim up and a palisade on the way, so I don't have to block off my door anymore. Thanks all!
