Can't access website or game.

My friend is having trouble getting on to haven and hearth and he can't access the website either. He has tried resetting his router, restarting his computer, turning off the firewall, running a network diagnostic and a using different browser. None of these have helped. When he try's to go onto the game he gets this first Authenticating... then after about 20 seconds it comes up with this Connection timed out: connect. We are out of idea's so help would be greatly appreciated if you need any additional information I will try to get it. (Also if this is in the wrong section let me know and I will move it.)

Open a CMD window, and put in

press Enter

it does a traceroute from his place to the HnH server - post a screenshot after it's done

You might check whether his provider offers child security measures and if it's turned on for his connection?

He should also try to secure login at the HnH website using SSL (https) - if certificate message is shown - go for details, import the certificate and accept it

Info: Windows 8 Pro 64bit, fibre optic, Ethernetcable

Secure login just came up with the same as the normal website this page cannot be displayed and the certificate message was not shown

As a side note he was on earlier and has not changed his provider since then.

Edit: He kept trying and eventually got the certificate to show up and can now access the game and site but we are not sure if this is a temporary fix or a permanent one.

There seems to be a problem with routing - interestingly it's at german exchange nodes ...

Your friend might try with Ender custom client aswell - if he's got 64 Bit java (c:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe) he might use Ender_x64 - don't forget to unpack the update.zip into Ender

My friend already used ender but has also tried the normal one but he is on the game for now but we are not sure if this will last
