Router not compatible with game?

Postby Euler87 » Mon Jul 08, 2013 12:30 am

I first installed Haven and Hearth, when I was at a friends. While playing at his house everything was perfectly fine.

When I came home today, after entering a house I got a dc and back to login screen.
After not being able to log in due to "account being online". I managed to get in, leave the house and dced again.

When I log in now, my background is black and I can't move.

I am having the very same problem on my notebook as well as on my desktop.
Other people are able to log in and move my char without problems. When I log in after they brought me out of city, I will be able to play, untill I enter a house again.

After going throw the basic solutions (different ender client;java;firewall;ports usw.) I am pretty sure that it seems to be a problem of people using either the Speedport W723 or W722.

Did anyone find any working solution for this problem yet :)?

Have you dug around for information about connection issues through this particular model router?

Have you double checked your router for permission levels? Some come with very restrictive permissions out of the box and you have to manually open ports. Haven needs TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 open if I recall right. Also, there's an older thread from here about issues with certain routers and not sure if information in it will be helpful: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5656&start=10&hilit=router. Opening the ports should solve the issue, though.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

If I am not totally retarded, the ports seem and should be open. Turned both pc and router firewalls off for now, no change whatsover.

Mr Euler if you can test with a different router (i.e. FritzBox) you should do - i remember i had someone getting that problems fixed by swapping the Speedport router (can't remember which Model) to a FritzBox.

Since I dont have another router lying around, I'd have to order one befor. I'm pretty sure now, it is a routerproblem, since it worked with the same PC from different other locations but not at home. I was hoping there was a way to work around this, whithout buying a new router ;)

Try to set the Speedport to Modem only mode (Zugangsdaten löschen, "nur als modem nutzen" aktivieren, Dauerverbindung "aus", Einwahl mit Zugangsdaten per Windows DFÜ)
