Download/Installation Problem

Hey guys,

I watched ProJared's video on Haven & Hearth and I was really excited to play it, it looked like my type of game. I registered no problem and went to install it. I downloaded the autohaven.jnlp that you get from pressing the play button, and I launched it. It seemed like it was installing just fine, however it gets stuck on "Downloading Application" And by "Gets stuck" I don't mean it just takes a while to download. I've waited for about 15 minutes on one instance, it still won't progress. I attempted redownloading autohaven.jnlp and that didn't help. I went to the IRC chat room in hopes that they could help me, and they made a couple of suggestions, which I followed, clearing the Java cache, and reinstalling Java as a whole, which I did, both. Neither of which helped.

What I'm thinking the error might be is that during the first time I attempted to install, my computer bugged out and I had to restart it during the download, and maybe the files that were downloaded were corrupted (if that's how the download process works for this particular title), but I don't know how to remove those allegedly corrupted files because I don't know where they are, I don't even know if that's the problem, it's just a hunch. If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm not super-professional but it might be java socket problem, but then cleaning cache would help. So it seems like port problem.

Heya again Sarah,

I have downloaded Ender's client and have followed his instructions down to the letter (including the proper client bit version.) but I am still having problems. Upon running the run.bat after editing it to say:

'.\updater\HnH_updater.exe
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se'

I get an error that looks like this:



And then a bunch of error messages I can't read because the command prompt closes too fast. I have also tried directing it to jre7, but I get the same result. I have no idea about the top half.

First of all, are you using 64 bit java version on your computer? and did you download ender's 64 bit clients? If so, the java folder must be under the "program files" so "run" should be like;
C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se'
And if you are using 32 bit java, java folder is "Program Files (x86)",you must download ender's 32 bits client and your "run" should be like;
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se'

All right, I finally have the Haven and Hearth window popping up, it asks me for my credentials, I input them, and then it just goes to a black screen. Doesn't say it's loading, doesn't say anything, just completely black. I restarted it once, but it's still just a black screen. Sorry if this is getting tedious for you, but I'm so close!

Ok, you have antivirus software running? please try to pause/exit and give a try again.
