Game runs really slow

The login menu is fine but when I get in the actual game it is running extremely slow.
I've not had this problem before however I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 (from 9.10) and I am using the
newer nVidia drivers (185) so this might be the cause.

The game runs fine, the problem seems to be the mouse input.
Hmm seems to work much better with 'nice -n-20'

The game seemed more laggy than before the last 2 days... maybe it's my imagination... maybe it gets more laggy all the time as more players join, more features are added, more maps added?
