"Connection refused: connect" error

Postby KitsonFoxfire » Wed Jul 17, 2013 2:51 am

Not sure if this is a bug or server issue if it is,sorry for putting it in the wrong location, but I got HnH before supper played around abit then got off, after supper I goto log on and I get this error "Connection refused: connect" so I thought maybe this is the Enders mod doing this so I try to log on via the play button at top of screen and still get that same error. Anyone knows what is going on?

its a known bug. If you do a search for it then you will see that it is due to the auth server going down. This only affects the custom clients such as enders and you should be able to log in from the web client. Strange i know... i'm having the same issue too atm

So how do we fix our custom clients than? That is what it really leads me to ask.

I use ender's and I cannot login using ender's but I can indeed login using the regular client.

This is the fix for your client until the auth server is back up and running. I used it and it has worked for me.

From everything I have read (including Forum and YouTube videos) and information from people in game I assume that Ender is a widely used and accepted client for H&H.
From this thread I understand there is an "Authentication" server which makes play via Ender client different to that via default client (as it seems the default client does not need the "Authentication" server).
If what I have said above is correct can the developers/admis please consider adding a "Status for the Authentication Server" on the Home page giving an indication of when/if this server is likely to be back online. I (and I assume others who are having the same problem) now need to decide whether to apply the fixes mentioned in the thread or wait for the server.
If not can someone correct my assumptions.
Thanks in advance.
BTW - Although a I am a noob I think the game is very good. Congrats to the developers/admins

I get this error with both Enders and the Vanilla Client.

I tried using Faerda's Launcher, however, it only accepts .exe programs (Enders is .bat and the Vanilla is .jnlp) so no luck with that either.
