(solved)Unable to craft Boats (Possibly anything else too)

Earlier I discovered Boatmaking and wanted to try it out immediately, but I ran into a rather suspicious problem; The craft menu for Cogs and Carts and thus Rowboat didn't appear for me.
I had planks in my inventory along with a block of wood, with a saw and axe in hand, but still it wouldn't appear for me.
I checked the wiki and asked around, even tried Youtube to find the solution but none had what I was looking for.
While the wiki mentions what you might need to build it, it does NOT mention what you need to DO in order for it to APPEAR on the crafting menu.

The bug:
Boatmaking (or possibly any other crafting option) not appearing in the craft menu even when you have the required materials.

Solution:
Make sure you Chop a tree, make Blocks of Wood AND make Planks/Boards all YOURSELF! It is necessary to go through the process of obtaining the items in order for the craft recipes to appear.

Conclusion:
I had done everything except made Boards, because my friend made a bone saw before me and just gave the boards to me.
I couldn't access the Rowboat crafting menu because I hadn't made any boards myself due to the lack of the tools (Saw), even though making a boat should ONLY require you to have the materials and not necessarily have gone through the process to obtain the materials.

Fix:
Make the crafting options appear as soon as it detects the required item in your inventory, rather than making it yourself.
Or just make the craft option for skill specific crafting recipes appear as soon as you learn the skill. In this case, make the recipe for Rafts and Boats appear under the crafting menu as soon as one learns the Boatmaking skill.

Unless this is fixed or reworked, having friends to play with might become more of an inconvenience rather than a convenience, if you all take different paths and skills. Thus if you are required to have the skills and the items to produce a material yourself, you'd all need to learn the specific same skills anyway, making it a waste of LP for your group.
Now while it wasn't that much of a case of lacking the skill to make planks, it was the fact that my friend had a bone saw and I did not.
Thus it was the lack of raw materials and not skills this time around, but I can bet this could also happen with various other things.
At least it should be mentioned on the Wiki before it's fixed.
