Clay regeneration exploit/feature?

Postby krikke93 » Tue Aug 20, 2013 1:28 am

Not sure if it has been fixed yet because I reported this to Jorb about 3 months ago (at the start of the world) and never got any reply back.

When you dig clay with an alt that has survival 1, the clay node hardly drops in quality. I had to dig about 3000 clay q10 unil I noticed it drop by 1q with my main character.
This is a pretty bad exploit used for brickwall building.

Again, I'm not sure if it has been fixed yet, maybe someone can confirm it still exists/got fixed?

I thought this was in as a cheap stopgap measure to help alleviate new alts griefing resource nodes? Atleast that's what I assumed about it. I've heard chat in Global/#haven2 about using this tip and it still seems to work, so I assume it is still an current effect.
Hearthlings: Marona; Chamberlain (retainer alt), Vincavec (shaman of the Dryad Wells Forest)

Makes sense. Never thought about that!
But it still holds the problem to get "infinite" wallgrade bricks in a short amount of time.

that's not a bug, it's a function on the new survival system. Also, didn;t you have a long "i quit" thread or did I imagine that?

I've been hopping on and off the game for a while, but I didn't play for the last 3 weeks now. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy the forums ;)

He mentioned he would be relatively active on the forums, in the quit thread.
Obviously that means NOT on ICA, Dwarves and Thieves, AfO, and YES on inn of brodgar, HDI, bugs, etc.

i think its a feature too... otherwise, what do you expect them to do with it? unlimited or not, you still have to spot the node to dig it.
i believe it is more of an exploit when an army of no-skilled alts could be used to deplete (or quality down) enemy's resources.
if you think it is an exploit and want them to fix it somehow, im afraid you need to say how else it should be changed.
