(No Bug)Skills not showing up for use?

So far, I have noticed that after learning both Pottery and Yeomanry, that I can't make or use any of the things in either skill. Pottery crafting options and claim staking don't show up in menus. I am sure that I have learned the skills, because both of them show up in Current skills. This also isn't something that goes for all my claimed skills, as brawling was learned at the same time and those abilities show up. Possible bug, or am I an idiot?

you need to discover all stuff using skills first yourself - for pottery you need to have dug clay for example and so on...

Wow. I can't believe I forgot this. I have clay, and figured it was good enough that i found it on someone else. And I forgot i needed Beau-dreams for yeomanry.
