low fps and immense overheating

Postby chocolaterain » Sat Mar 15, 2014 10:18 am

I got a new computer, specs:

APU A8-6600K
R9 270X 2GB
8GB ram

And for some reason haven and hearth gives me low fps and causes my cpu to overheat heavily. I am quite surprised by this considering that I can run most high end games without any problems. What can I do against this?

If you haven't already tried, perhaps you should make sure that your fans are running at 100% speed, or at least what is optimal. I believe there are free programs that allow one to easily make alterations to fan speed. Worth a try.

It was apparently just my monitor which for some reason broke. Real temp is around 50C

Now there's the low fps problem though

Try running the client on only one core.

Past that there's not much you can do I'm afraid. The client is just badly coded and is a huge process whore.
I can run most games on 60fps but I rarely get above 10 on haven.

Is the game running on APU GPU or the dedicated GPU ?

Did you uncheck "Triple Buffering" in OpenGL Settings?
