"Could not connect to server"

Postby alemio » Wed Feb 25, 2015 3:07 pm

Yesterday i just joined a new village and, when i tought i could finally start playing seriously, another shit happened.

Last time i've been able to log in was yesterday at 23:00 and everything worked fine.
Today i tried logging in, and it took much more time than usual. Then a red message appeared "Could not connect to server" I tried many times, restarted the computer, but i still get that message.

I got to say, my computer is a shitty XP and java seems to be leaving it or whatever, but the problem is that i just cant log in.

im using enders client.

The server may have been down, also, I get this sometimes when my bandwidth is being stupid and my speeds are low.

Sounds like some kind of firewall/router issue.

Ah, on my computer I had to lower the security level for Java.

Lower your java security to medium or low, also if you are using a custom client you may need to use a custom path finding for it, unless you make a shortcut to the downloaded folder. (Which is 100 times easier).

Lowering the security is crap

Make sure you have both http and https in your Java Security exceptions

check your router settings - you might try with port forwarding - needed Ports: 1870 UPD and 1871 TCP

What Antivirus program are you using?

silenous wrote:EDIT 2: I have found the solution. Avast Premier hates Java for some reason and won't let it connect. I removed it and got Free on and its working fine now

Edit: i tried, but i didnt notice i was using free anyway.

I'm gonna try port forwarding i guess... i have no idea what it is and how to do it

Isn't avast a antivirus program that does the opposite of what it should do?

I think I had a problem with that program once.
