permadeath/reincarnation bug?

Postby shockedfrog » Sat May 30, 2009 5:11 pm

When I permadied, I was sent back to the (empty, of course) character list screen with the new character button, but the inventory window appeared too when i clicked in the approximate area it was (random clicking :) and the new character button didnt work. i then tried to relogin, which didn't work for a while (maybe server was down?), when it finally let me log in my original character was still in the list but clicking 'play' does nothing, and there's no runestone in the new character creation room.

You are a trailblazer, my friend. As far as I know this is the first real death (apart from our testing) in Haven & Hearth ever. Something did go slightly awry, and there was a server crash. Code gnome will be looking in on this shortly. Hang in there.

Yay, haha. :) I lost most of my hard hp through trespassing, which I'm guessing is an effect of those skull pole things, decided to just let the leeches finish me off.

Yes, there was a bug with the inventory window indeed, and it caused a server crash, which caused your account not to be saved properly.

I've patched up your account manually, fixed the bug, and made sure to save the account in advance, just for extra safety. (I thought I had done the latter part already, but I might have mistaken my intentions for actions. :) )

Working, thanks :) Am I supposed to have this many learning points, though? I'm pretty close to what I originally had, I think.

He, thanks for telling me. It seems I had forgot to reduce the skills points indeed. It will be fixed the next time I reboot the server. If you're going to die, do it before then. ;)
