Died afk?

I was building mansion and died in process.
I'm supposing i've died of hunger. But i was afk all the night.
Isn't it a bug that a newbie could die being afk?

i've made a new char to see what happened. Mansion is built, character lies right out claimed area. deadly.

So i died not in the process of building. But right after. Being afk. How could this happened?

Starvation is most likely the cause.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

If you are afk, in this game you are in more danger than if you are aware of your character's surroundings. For example bears will happily attack afk players, and there goes your chance of hiding and getting away, let alone fighting back.

In this case building a mansion takes up a lot of stamina. Your stamina repairs but at the expense of hunger. When you are repairing stamina you get hungry much, much faster. It was a bad combination. I'm afraid it's not a bug. It's a very basic part of the game design.

Well, the only thing I can think of is that you were starving already when you started and by the time the mansion was finished your stam was so low it brought you to 0% starving and died.
As far as I know, from experience, being afk doesn't drain hunger like it does regularly unless your stam is regenerating or your shp is regenerating.

i was not starving when started building. absolutely sure. ii was hungry 50% (not very hungry).

and i was staying on claimed area. bear can pass thru? there are buildings around, not forest.

and if it was murder. i dunno how to figure out what was that.

it was the point. if u started building. it won't stop even if stamina at zero.
and it was not full mansion. only stones and wood and some straw.
