Unable to login at exit location

When I logged out a few minutes ago, I was away from home, sleeping in a Leanto. But now I couldn't login to that spot anymore. Logging in to my Hearth Fire did work, however, so I went to sleep in my bed at home and thought of this as a minor bug not worthy of mentioning here...

...but now my companion tells me I am still sleeping in that lean-to that is far, far away! Did my character make a clone of himself and stay there?

It doesn't really matter to me, as long as my char is still somewhere. IMHO, there could be some exploitation method in having two characters, so I'll post it here.
