Uhh, I keep getting "could not locate server" error.

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time..

Uhh, I keep getting "could not locate server" error.

Postby ViciousGamer04 » Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:55 am

It says there are currently 61 people playing so apparently the server is up. What's going on with me? I was on a few days ago and it was working fine. I decided to travel a bit then it just kind of blew up on me and i haven't been able to get back on since..

Edit:

Still not working but some things to add.

-I'm on a Windows XP
-I've tried redownloading it a few times but still had issues.

Edit Edit:

Apparently after redownloading it about 20 times it started to work again.

Edit Edit Edit:

Urr. It broke again. I need help so it doesn't keep screwing up like this, xD.

I get a similar error, except it's "could not connect to server."

I think the server may just be going down a lot. It could be that it's been slashdotted since someone mentioned it in an article discussion there fairly early in the comments.

Same problem here.
And it looks like Odecjusz and I are from the same country. Coincidence?

It seems very strongly dependent on the speed my internet is going at the time. If it's for example, really draggggiing it seems to crash a lot unless i'm running like nothing. Just an input for all those having the problem is to try to run less and dedicate more resources via your "task manager" by "Ctrl-alt-del"'ing on your keyboard, clicking the "processes" tab and right clicking on "Javaw" I believe it was called and setting priority to above normal or high. Or realtime if you have good enough computer specs or aren't really doing anything else. I do this generally not to play the game but do it to get the game started although my problems have seemed to have went down a lot so I kind of stopped doing it. It used to take me like 10-15 times to just load and play the game each time I wanted to play. Now it takes like 1-2 and no REAL explanation as to why it was doing it. Just a lot of theories.
