disappearing inventory items

me and a friend have a problem we had lava and a butterfly and the disappeared befor the ending of the timer.

how can this happen?

and if its a bug can we get them back?

they are not stolen we check it by useing ranging.

Be a bit more specific please, where did you keep it, on the ground or what?
Also, what are you talking about, silkmoths?
Please use the proper names to be more comphrehensable.

Edit: Also, this is an Alpha game, unlikely you will get reimbued for loss by a bug.
The only things I know the devs for doing is breaking a palisade if you're stuck or destroying a cliff ( ) for certain towns.
