Abandoned Hearth Fires.

Although this is not a bug, and this topic should still probably be somewhere else, I think player's abandoned Hearth Fires (The players that have left the game) should be destructible by active players or at least able to decay. It's frustrating to no end when I come into contact with an abandoned Hearth Fire when trying to build the perfect constructions and I can do nothing about it! :(

This has probably troubled many players before, and might not be enabled due to long gone players wanting to play again, but it's incredibly inconvenient.

Get Vandalism, some str and a pickaxe, solved.

you don't even need vandalism unless it's on someone else's claim

p.s. they also decay

From what I've tried, you need vandalism (not sure if it works even with that) or need to drop a claim over the hearth to break it. In which case you still need the strength and/or pickaxe.

Yes, vandalism is required to break a hearthfire; unless it's yours or is on your (or a vandalism-privileged) claim. It also requires a reasonable amount of strength, at least rendering fresh alts unable to destroy their own hearthfires.

Pretty sure you still need vandalism even if you're on a vandalism privileged claim. Had some issues with it in the last week or so.

I successfully destroyed hearthfires on unclaimed land (pickaxe). No vandalism or criminal acts o___O

yep. yep. yep.

boar tooth snuff for strength boost. tea for stamina. wine for drunken strength boost. takes about 30 minutes. dont necessarily have to have a pickaxe, but it helps. wear a bearskin cloak and a talisman for added oomph.

or you could just put a mini-pallisade around the thing if you dont feel like going through all that.

You can destroy them without vandalism, but nobody's explaining why there's confusion. It seems you'd need it because you do actually need to have criminal acts active to destroy them, although I don't think this leaves a scent. If it does, at least make sure you destroy only the ones you need to. They have a soak value, though, which means you can't touch them below a certain total strength level. I don't know how much you need, either, but it's pretty low if you have some item boosts.
Come back two hours earlier.
