Minor - Cheese tray accumulates ticks in it without curd

Minor - Cheese tray accumulates ticks in it without curd

Step 1 - Create a cheese in a tray, any type (I used brodgar blue)
Step 2 - Put tray in cheese rack, any rack (I used cellar)
Step 3 - Right click on tray within rack, slice up cheese
Step 4 - Observe counter start ticking up on empty tray
Step 5 - Add lots of curd at any point while ticks are accumulating
Step 6 - Observe counter finish and you get the appropriate cheese (cellar cheddar in this case)

I have not tried to get cheese without curd using this method yet. I suspect it will not work, as the tick over event didn't generate gouda so it's obviously aware that the cheese tray contains curd and not brodgar blue.

Most I could see a player getting out of this is saving some time while his cow works up the milk.

(P.S. Let us store empty trays on racks!)

cheese cheat

Postby ninja_yodeler » Mon Jul 11, 2011 12:18 pm

so. i just sliced up some brodgar cheese straight from the rack while it was 28% toward its next stage. i did not remove the cheese rack to place the new curd in and now i managed to skip 27% of the wait because the timer didnt go away. has now ticked up to 29%
im not sure if this is a timer related bug. (could be related to this.http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8468&p=94500&hilit=cheese#p94500

or i might be able to get cheese sooner than before. its not really big or game breaking so i made a post instead of pm'ing loftar because well. i dunno why.

although i might not make it back home in time to see the result i am wondering will i have skipped 27% of my cheese time or will the timer go to 127%

the only way i can see this being abused is if you want the cheese you make it as per usual and then let it get to 99% to the next stage. take out the cheese you want. place in new curd. wait 1% bingo you have twice as much cheese in only a fraction of the time.

sorry if this is intentional

ps. i searched the bug forum for cheese related bugs but in 9 pages i fouund only the above link to be sorta related :|

Hm. Don't see how this is a meaningful bug. I assume once you cut the cheese out it doesn't restart a timer or something? If it did you could produce camembert a little faster I guess.

Still, neat find guys.

Yes that is the problem, cutting the cheese out does not restart the timer, so for stage1 cheese you could just do it once every TWO times instead of one.

Nice to know though nice to know.
