Beehives not producing wax

Postby Bumbar » Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:36 am

I have 4 beehives placed in my garden, none of them is producing wax. So far I only got 1 wax from first beehive I placed, that was last week, since then nothing. I do get honey though.

We are experiencing the same problem.
We even destroyed the old hives and built new ones, we get honey of varying quality from our new hives but no wax.

wax seems to take a while, and beehives are unreliable at best.

4 more days have passed and my hives still haven't produced any wax. That's more than a week, since I last harvested wax from my field. Is this really working as intended?

You need to harvest and re-plant crops A LOT to get honey and then if you do not harvest the honey - wax.
Proper hive spacing may also be critical, the hives should not overlap in coverage.
That said; What Sabinati said is also correct - "...beehives are unreliable at best"
Good Luck!!

I was under the impression that wax and honey are produced at the same time, as someone in "how do I" subforum said. I'll stop collecting honey and see if that helps. Thank you.

My beehives haven't produced wax for about one and a half month (IRL) now.
They started out at honey quality 75, down to q20 now.
I did harvest a few pieces of wax from them about one and a half month ago, since then, nothing.
They are spaced apart to get minimal overlap.
I grow about 300 plots of wheat in their radius, plus craploads of all other crops.
Harvest that about twice a week.
Also, honey that stays in a hive becomes wax? Sounds like bullshit. I grab my honey only about once a week, if not less frequent even.

It looks like that, after harvesting wax from the hives one time, wax production stops completely.

Beehives don't produce anything if the crops they affect aren't harvested. They have to have plants growing in order to be able to produce wax/honey.

Beehives are bugged to hell though.
