What PVP is about in this game?

In one of the streams Jorb said that this game needs some conflict resolution mechanism, so PvP will not be removed. But 'm not sure it's main usage of PvP. I see at least two more:
1) getting profit
2) just fun
3) feeling power
Did I miss anything? Does this game need changes to remove any of them? (asking because I'm a peaceful guy and think - Yes).

Pvp is what makes it a survival game once you are experienced enough.
If you are a perpetual noob then your life is in danger even without player interaction.

Easiest way to survive is to not login. But what's in it for hunter? If you are the most powerful player and play alone on the server cause you killed everyone else is this win?

PvP in this game is primarily about bullying lower level players. How often have we heard players brag of "I love hunting sprucecaps"? Most of the players attacked have done nothing to warrant being attacked. This game condones and endorses what in real life would be serial killers, it considers unprovoked attacks and random murder to be "realistic". Well, "realistic" would also mean retribution for such acts instead of applause, but any discussion of such is shouted down by those who enjoy the wanton violence and death. I'm sure a psychiatrist would have a field day here.

I assume the aim is to play a survival game.
If you choose to remove the lose state of the game you are just running a simulation not playing videogames.

Im sure there have been many periods in history where this has happened.
I don't think haven is trying to be a modern 1st world society where law and order rules.
Feel free to voice your opinion on how crime should be punished more severely.
There has been a huge discussion about it this world and Im sure something will change in the future.

Pvp is currently underutilised due to several mechanics that encourage griefing playstyles of any actual realm warfare.

I know this has been asked and shut down a million times before on this forum, but I secretly keep hoping they at least attempt some form of PvE server at some point in the future. I loved everything about this game, except the PvP part and I think it's such a shame it's keeping me away from the most joy I've ever had in any game ever. That's why I keep revisiting the forums every now and then in hopes of any talk or news about PvE or even private servers. All I do is lurk, but this post made me compelled to at least leave a reply with my thoughts.

I would love a PvE server, it would encourage more interaction and cooperation and longer worlds. But it won't happen because -

1 - the devs are afraid it would have many more players than the PvP server and

2 - the only ones on the PvP server would be those powerful fighters ...with no one but each other to beat up on

I am pretty sure if you look at the stats, you would see that realms with a PVE side and PVP side usually flourish rather than servers with all pvp

two that comes to mind are:

Eve online and WoW

But Maybe I have the facts mixed up? It's possible, With WoW as I just remember when I had played years ago.

But I still have hope
